Dog obedience training is the foundation of most dog training. Just obedient dogs can go on advance training such as protection dog training. Dog obedience training is crucial for pet dogs to be able to integrate into the family environment. Theyve a wild intuition, such as digging, that not appropriate for home residing. You must have the ability to stop undesirable actions using commands. Dog obedience training strengthens the connection somewhere between dog and owner.

Obedient dogs are happier with happier owners. Untrained dogs are much more likely to be left at shelters or given away, or left in the back yard. Well trained dogs participate in family activities, are better pets and better protectors of the home.

There are various kinds of dog obedience training. Different kinds of training include leash and collar training, reward-based training, and clicker training. A good dogs obedience school will train you about all different methods of training, as well as delve into dog psychology and dog behavior. It would also be beneficial to take classes on the history of dog training so you can learn about what works and what does not.

Very important portion of dogs obedience training is positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement is one very popular phrase in the dog training circuit. Its much simpler for you to reward good behavior than giving a punishment bad behavior. This method of training gives the dog a positive reinforcement when a desired behavior is offered, such as verbal praise, a treat or any other reward. Harsh corrections are not used, and unwanted behaviors are ignored while favorable behaviors are praised and rewarded. This method is highly effective and most dogs respond well to it.

Dogs learn obedience through a simple process of associating their actions with consequences. Your dog will be confused if the same action has different consequences. If your dog is allowed to disobey and perform undesirable behaviors in certain situations, he can easily become confused and not understand why these behaviors are sometimes permissible and sometimes not allowed.

Keep in mind, some dogs may learn a behavior in a single session, but the other dogs may not be as quick to learn. Repetition and consistency will help them to conquer their training obstacles.

Guide Dogs auction in Bolton UK

The quoted item below is part of a request for help I received...

"Pemberton taxis in Wigan are having a grand auction night in aid of guide dogs for the blind.

They are hoping to raise five thousand pounds to sponser a guide dog.

The event is being held at the Douglas Bank Pub, Wigan on August 24th.

The event has been registered with the local Guide Dog branch located in Bolton. You can verify this on Bolton 01204 546510 ... if you could offer any help we would be grateful."
