Guide Dogs auction in Bolton UK

The quoted item below is part of a request for help I received...

"Pemberton taxis in Wigan are having a grand auction night in aid of guide dogs for the blind.

They are hoping to raise five thousand pounds to sponser a guide dog.

The event is being held at the Douglas Bank Pub, Wigan on August 24th.

The event has been registered with the local Guide Dog branch located in Bolton. You can verify this on Bolton 01204 546510 ... if you could offer any help we would be grateful."

Introducing the New Animal Welfare Act UK

Topical news... as from 6th April, 2007 the new Animal Welfare Act comes into force in the UK.

It is welcomed by the RSPCA. And it appears to require more responsibility from animal owners... let us hope it does what it is supposed to do. It is a sad world which actually NEEDS acts like this... sometimes you could despair when you hear so many tales of cruelty.

I wont launch into my feelings about the judiciary and sentencing policies... thats a whole different blog! [Non-existent, otherwise Im sure it would create a great deal of trouble.]
